Weekend at Cape Lookout & Beach NC

What a great weekend. Our friends Jon and Erin invited us over to the beach for the weekend and to go deep sea fishing. Jon took his son, ryry and I took RJ, they ended up not getting to reel in too much the fish were way too big; king mackerel averaging over 20 lbs each; eight of them. And I did let RJ help me reel in one of two sharks i caught. He had a blast. JK went boogey boarding and learned how from Jon. We took family pics at the beach which everyone will see around christmas. In all a blessed trip very relaxing and fun.

July 2007 Trip to Alabama and Fly Fishing

July we went home to Bama to visit Uncle Robert a week before he went to be with the Lord. Belle got to spend alot of time with family and on the way home we stopped over nite in Gatlinburg for a 2 day refresher. WE went caving for a few hours and went and saw an old settlement in teh mountains on teh way home. Got to take the kids on my dad's Harley except for JJ who is still too young. Celebrated JJ's 3rd birthday a week later. A week later i took JK and RJ fly and spin fishing at the Mitchell River near Stone Mountain. Didn't catch anything but sucker fish. But very relaxing and fun. Camped overnite.

This pic was taken on my way to work one morning last fall.

JK at his first game. He played 2 quarters
as a Offensive tackle. 52 lbs soaking wet in
a 120 lb. league. YIKES!!! But he holds his own
very well and LOVEs to tackle. Can't wait to
see him play some more defense. He had 2
tackles in about 6 plays as a defensive end.
He plays for the Steelers!!! He has been
practicing 4 days a week since last wk of July 07.
that is him on the end #46 just before a play.

JJ and DV (best friend's son) last spring at the playground.

Catfishing at Bur-Mill Park

Took JK and RJ fishing this weekend. We all caught a ton of catfish. RJ was so excited. I pulled in about a 14 lb. channel to the bank but he snapped the line when i lifted his head out of the water. We took 6 2+ pounders home and I blackened them Saturday nite for everyone. The kids eat blackened catfish like it is candy. They ate all 6 (cleaned) pounds of fish without even blinking. After teaching sunday school we took the kids out on their bikes for a little while and then to see Ratatouille the movie. They had the best weekend. Belle took KG friday nite and JJ to a girl's all niter at hte church. I think Belle had more fun than KG did.
But by the look of the bags under all the kids and Belles' eyes this morning we might have over did it a bit.

Williamsburg and Jamestown Sept 17-21, 2007

Larry and Jim came up to go to Williamsburg with us. We had a blast other than poor Jim who got sick. We stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge and I at the ripe old age of 38 learned to boogey board surf. The kids laughed so hard seeing me surfing on their surf machine with the waves wasting me about 3 different times. The kids all got the nerve to climb the stairs to about the 6th floor and go down the two giant water slides that were open. Little dare-monster JJ flew up when I finally decided to let him and went down screaming for joy all the way down. The kids had a blast. larry bought us an extra nite at the hotel and i think we were at the indoor water park at the hotel more than we were at Williamsburg, much to my wife's dismay. Jamestown was really awesome as well. JK was fascinated by the old flintlock rifles and the original three boats were really cool. We took the ferry home and just had a great family vacation, although we were both very tired once we got home. JK and KG both were brave enough to try surfing on the boogie board and Kody tried it like 5 times and did pretty good.

God is So Amazing and So Good

His overwhelming mercy and grace transforms me new every day. It is a never ending river that springs up and washes over me and I am so completely unworthy of it. Praise God for His love.
He is so worthy of all that we can ever be or dream of being. Thank you God for my 4 precious babies. They are such a blessing in our lives. I hope you can always open our eyes and direct us to be the parents we want to be through you. JK is so bright, cheerful and has an upright heart. KG is so thoughtful and full of love and so creative. RJ always has the most wonderful smile on his face and wants so bad to give a hug to anyone. JJ, precious little JJ, God's gift to us, is so full of energy, so full of joy, so full of life. We are so blessed by you God our creator. We worship you and give you praise and Honor for who you are. May you the King of Kings be blessed now and forever more. Holy is the name of the Lord God Allmighty.

God loves you so very much you cannot fathom.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
